Office and retail building can all become more sustainable and improve their resources management even if they were built and operated under LEED and BOMA BESt programs. Applying the life cycle costs and ongoing commissioning programs will reduce resource usage and save costs over the life of the building. The buildings also increase in appraised value as the revenues should increase or at least remain the same due to the these approaches while the costs will be reduced provide a higher capitalization rate and more value.
